OUR MACHOS

On May 25 2006 Calista and I hooked the trailer to our truck and headed north for Midland, Ontario and Maple Brae Farms. The purpose of our trip was to view and perhaps purchase two alpaca machos (males). We left London at about eight AM and arrived at Maple Brae at three PM. I did well, only getting lost once and losing about twenty minutes.

Maple Brae was selling their farm and all of their livestock. They had ten machos to choose from. We chose a medium fawn named Pavio and a brown called Starbucks Ray.

Both Pavio and Ray have exhalent conformation and type as well as fine dense fleece with good crimp and staple length.

Pavio is a large male with a grand presence and is registered in both the US and Canada.

Ray is not as large as Pavio but is only two years old so has a little more growing to do. He is registered in the US and Canada.
